We’ve all heard the message that bullying is bad. We’ve wept over stories of brokenness that drove students into suicide, addictions or destructive behavior. What you may not realize is the role you personally can play over the long-haul in giving the emerging generation more than a “bumper sticker” reply about the real hurdles they’re wrestling with. Rally cries or reactive initiatives may be well-intentioned, but they often shut down conversations about the deeper hot topics that are hidden under the issues we’re more familiar with. Join Pastor Tony Myles in taking a good, redemptive look in the mirror about what we can and can’t do in our how we serve young people. This will be an interactive gathering for adults and teenagers willing to foster the change they hope to see in the world.

Cleveland Play House's Script Club is everything you love about a book club - but with a play in the spotlight! First, check out a copy of the script from the Medina Reference desk and read it at home. Then join CPH Artistic Staff at the library for a free-flowing exploration of the story and characters, with special insight on how CPH artists take a play from page to stage! The second play in the series is How We Got On by Idris Goodwin. It's 1988 in an upper-class Midwest suburb. Teens Hank and Julian live and breathe hip-hop while their peers would rather rock. Determined to create the ultimate 'suburban' rap song, the duo forges ahead through unconvinced parents and the highs and lows of friendship. Full of rich, theatrical language and the poetry of everyday hopes, How We Got On takes us on an uplifting lyrical journey of dreaming big and discovering your voice.

The Lottery
Author
Beth Goobie
Review
This book was very interesting from front cover to back cover. It's about a girl named Sally who goes to school that takes part in a thing called the lottery. She is picked for the lottery by no coincidence, and soon realizes who her true friends are. The reason I chose to read this book was because I had recently read a short story in language arts class called the lottery. This book was very similar to the short story I read. I absolutely loved this book, but there were some downfalls. Some parts of the book become very boring because nothing happens, but once you reach the end of the book you realize why all of those boring parts in the book were there. There was much suspense throughout the entire book, especially at the end. This book was easy for me to relate to because some of the feelings that Sally had I could relate to.
Rating 1=hated it 5=OMG best book ever

The Three Musketeers
Author
Alexandre Dumas
Review
When d'Artagnan arrives in Paris, his only possessions are an old horse, a sword, and a letter of recommendation to Monsieur de Treville, the Captain of the King's Musketeers. He loses the letter, but meets three musketeers, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. He is to duel with all three for various reasons, but they are interrupted by some of the Cardinal's guards, who try to arrest the musketeers. They refuse, and attack the Cardinal's men. D'Artagnan helps them, and afterwards they recommend him to Monsieur de Treville, and he gets d'Artagnan a place in the King's Guards.
D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis uncover a plot against the Queen and the Duke of Buckingham. But trying to get enough proof to reveal the plot proves harder than they think-and puts them all in danger.
That wasn't a very good review. This is an AWESOME book, and I would recommend it to ANYONE who can read. Alexandre Dumas is a wonderful author, and not at all slow and boring like some old authors. Ten stars!
